From day one, way back in 2001, Cookie has been three things: beer hall, Thai eating house and disco. But, while you could have picked up a Duvel or Chimay in those early days - at the time, the height of exotic when it came to beer in Australia - and had it served in style, it's in more recent times that the beer offering has come into its own.

Delve into the beer menu you'll be able to choose from around 200 varieties. Duvel and Chimay remain but are joined by beers from across the globe and, increasingly, dozens from Australian craft breweries. Today, you'll find gems on tap too after the venue increased the number of lines to 26, enabling staff to introduce a good selection of rotating guest beers. What's more, in September 2013, Cookie launched a completely revamped beer list, with a greater focus on Victorian brewers and began hosting regular Sunday beer showcases at which brewers are invited in to launch and talk beer.

The venue also has a tale to tell. Curtin House once housed a gentleman's club, was later the city's Communist headquarters, then a Japanese warehouse before Cookie became its first new venue. There's been no turning back since, with Cookie joined in the Swanston Street block by the Toff in Town, the Rooftop Bar (and Cinema), Metropolis comic store and a host of other cooler-than-thou outlets.

Despite turning 10 in 2011, Cookie retains its reputation as one of the CBD's finest bar / restaurant combos whether you're in the mood for exquisite, no holds barred Thai from the kitchen, catching up with friends at the bar, taking in the city from one of the balcony coves, enjoying the nightly DJs or dipping into the beer cellar for a rare vintage.
