Port Macquarie Beer & Cider Festival 2017 (NSW)

Following on from its successful debut in 2016, which attracted 2,000 attendees, the Port Macquarie Beer and Cider Festival returns in September.

Westport Park will once again be transformed into a beer and cider haven, with food trucks, a games arena and the inaugural "King and Queen of the Festival".

The family-friendly festival brings together some of the best Australian brewers and cider makers against the backdrop of the Hastings River.

Festival director Jason Clifton says: "This year's event will showcase a spectacular mixing pot of brews with over 50 different flavours of beers and ciders, representing both local and Australian-wide brewers.

“It’s a great opportunity for the Port Macquarie community to get amongst the rapidly trending craft beer and cider craze and see the passion poured into each glass by incredibly enthusiastic brewers.”

Producers already confirmed include:

  • Young Henrys
  • Stone & Wood
  • Franks Cider
  • Hops and Tales
  • Pirate Life
  • Pagan Cider
  • Mountain Goat
  • New England Brewing Co

with further announcements to be made.

Onstage you'll find blues band Chase The Sun, headlining a bill that also includes Claude Hay, Barrell House, Benje Travis & Chris Rose.

Attendees can also register here to take part in some Highland Games inspired events too, including the Mid North Coast Beer Keg Toss (pictured), the Keg Roll and all new “Thong Throw”. Competitors will be judged for strength, speed, agility, and accuracy, culminating in the crowning of the Festival King and Queen.

Elsewhere, there is a games area with a giant slide, bocce, giant Jenga and more. There will also be a special bus timetable allowing attendees to enjoy an afternoon of tastings without having to worry about driving home.
