If you've ever been to a big beer and food degustation, you’ll well know the feeling when the dessert course comes out. It can be like the final round of a prize fight, where a table of tired and staggering diners are staring down the last plate with simple thoughts of conquest by any means, rather than wide eyed enjoyment.
So why not just skip the early rounds and dive straight into the sweet stuff?
That’s what The Quarryman’s Hotel will be doing when they host an event dedicated solely to beer and dessert.
In conjunction with Marrickvile’s bottleshop-cum-brewer-cum-distributor, Bucket Boys, they’ll be showcasing a range of five international beers while indulging in a range of sweet treats. To make sure you’re getting the most from the experience, you’ll be guided through each of the beers, the brewery that made it and the dish its been paired with.
It’s an early afternoon affair so you’ll still have time to burn off the extra calories (or add to them, if that’s your preference).
