Now in its tenth year, Kooinda Brewery is one of the more established members of Melbourne's brewing family. From a suburban backyard to a brewery in Heidelberg West and through many changes along the way, Kooinda has a longstanding connection to beer in Melbourne's outer northeast.
Late last year it also became one of the many small breweries to embrace cans, having hooked up with mobile canning operator Pro Canning to move the entire range across to tinnies.
To celebrate, the brewery will be throwing a Tinnies and Pizza Party at Preston's Takeaway Pizza, a new pizza shop and late night bar from the people behind Dexter at 535 High Street, Preston.
On Australia Day Eve from 4pm to 6pm, $5 tinnies of the brewery's Dangerzone IPA, Estival Lager and American Pale Ale will be on offer.
Those who order their pizza online here can also grab themselves $15 six-packs over the whole long weekend. Plus, anyone looking for a reason to pick up their takeaway early – or enjoy the new bar – will also find Kooinda's beers pouring through its taps.
