Humble Tumbler Craft Beer Course ft Crafty & Miro

The craft beer course written and run by The Crafty Pint's founder and beer sensei Miro Bellini of Good Beer Week, Mountain Goat and many other things fame returns for another three-week stint in November.

Run in conjunction with winemaker and all round quality booze expert Clare Burder of The Humber Tumbler in the heart of Melbourne's Inner North, it's aimed at anyone from craft beer novices wanting to accelerate their beer appreciation to aficionados looking to polish their knowledge to hospo staff keen to dazzle their customers.

The three weeks are structured as follows:

  • Hops: The Spark of Curiosity
  • Malt: The Rise of Civilisation
  • Yeast: The Enlightenment

with eight (or more) world class beers featured each week that tell the story of beer's key building blocks as the hosts unleash their knowledge of all things beery upon intimate groups of around 12 people.

The sessions are fun and entertaining yet will send you away with a wealth of new knowledge and an appreciation for the entire world of beers from elegant pilsners to fruity Belgians, balanced browns to barrel-aged bacteria bombs.

It will also dip into the world of beer and food matching, with Clare and the boys lining up a selection of awesome cheeses, breads, meats, pickles and sweet treats over the three weeks.

The sessions run from 6.30pm on November 10, 17 and 24 at Level 2/272 Brunswick Street, Fitzroy, with the full course costing $250, which includes all beers, food, a course guide and a copy of James' book, 150 Great Australian Beers - Your Guide to Craft Beer & Beyond.
