Earlier this year, the team at Naremburn's Flat Rock Brew Cafe brewed some special beer, popped it into barrels then locked them in a cage beneath the cafe's floorboard. Now it's finally time to open them.
In what's the first in a series of special events, Wednesday 5th November will see the launch of Flat Rock's barrel-ageing program with a whiskey barrel-aged Imperial Stout.
The beer itself will be the final act in a specially designed four course meal which will also showcase other Flat Rock beers alongside their highly regarding food.
Throughout the evening, both the chef and brewer will be on hand to tell you about their respective creations, how they complement each other, the brewing process, food selection and Flat Rock's future plans.
If you need further convincing, here's a taster of how the menu is looking:
- Amuse Bouche: green pea and mint soup
- Snapper ceviche, pomegranate, blood orange, lime and radish marinade served with Flat Rock Pale Ale
- Veal cutlet with green peas, broad beans à la française and home-grown carrots served with Flat Rock IPA
- Passionfruit and chocolate ganache with confit orange served with Flat Rock whiskey barrel-aged Imperial Stout
