Murray's LAMBunctious Australia Day Weekend

For an Australian brewery that's produced so many iconic Australian beers (including, of course, Icon), it's a quirk that until very recently the only hops Murray's used were from New Zealand.

But following hot on the heels of the US-inspired Fred IPA comes a racy new brew: the LAMB-borghini. This is being released for Australia Day and will be the brewery's first ever 100% locally hopped Australian IPA.

The beer will get its launch at the Bob's Farm brewery on the weekend of January 24-26 in a big celebration of all things Aussie and local, starting with the food which will follow the lamb theme; think LAMB-borghini rolled lamb legs, lamb curry and lamb pizza.

In terms of entertainment there'll be a free concert on the Saturday from local vocalist Cathy Cannon and an interactive show on Sunday from Aaron Hood. Both days will see the return of the throng throwing competition in the afternoon and there'll be brewery tours each day at 2:15pm.

Entry to the event is free but bookings are required - just call 4982 6411 or visit www.murraysbrewing.com.au. And if you required transport to the event, buses are available from Nelson Bay (use the aforementioned contact details to find out more).
