Last year, the events team at Pentridge Prison decided to hold a craft beer festival inside its infamous walls.
The idea struck such a chord that they ended up welcoming twice as many punters through the door than they'd initially hoped for.
As such, they're back again in 2015 with the Northern Craft Beer Festival taking over the prison on September 27.
On offer will be more than 100 beers and ciders from more than 20 of Australia’s best brewers, plus a smattering of overseas representation too. The brewers include:
- Kooinda
- Stone & Wood
- James Squire
- Little Creatures
- Edge Brewing Project
- Hawthorn
- Three Troupers
- Mornington Peninsula Brewery
- Trumer Pils
- Bridge Road
- 3 Ravens
- Mash Brewing
- Quiet Deeds
- Bridgeport
- Rocks Brewing
- Yenda
- Barrow Boys
- KAIJU!
- Hawkers Beer
- Dainton Family Brewing
- Cricketers Arms
- Two Birds
Food is being supplied by the Woodlands Hotel and The Glass Den Café and there will be live music throughout the Sunday afternoon too.
It runs from midday to 7pm with entry costing $15, which includes entry and beer and cider samples. You can buy yours here (with an early bird price of just $10 if bought before August 31).
The festival takes place in D Division, Urquart Street (Cnr Elm Grove), Coburg.
