Meet The Founder of the World's Leading Beer Training Programme

The Cicerone programme is the world's leading beer training course, offering a wide range of respected courses and qualifications to people working in and around the beer industry.

Its founder, Ray Daniels, is in Melbourne on Monday where he'll be hosting a meet and greet at The Local Taphouse in St Kilda. The Local Taphouse is the first Aussie venue to have all front-of-house staff credentialed as Certified Beer Servers under the Cicerone programme.

Based in Chicago but expanding internationally, the Cicerone Certification Program certifies and educates beer professionals, testing on five key areas: Keeping and Serving Beer; Beer Styles; Beer Tasting and Flavors; Brewing Ingredients and Processes; and Beer and Food Pairing. To date, the programme has certified more than 50,000 individuals worldwide.

Brewers, publicans, importers, distributors and other beer industry professionals are invited to attend this informal event as Ray talks about the programme and answers any questions about beer, brewing and the American beer scene that people care to ask.

The first regular glass of tap beer is on Ray. After that, drinks will be available at normal bar prices.

The official part of the evening is from 6pm to 7pm.

If you wish to attend then RSVP essential to steve@thelocal.com.au by midday on August 31.
