They've been taking their beer lineup in an ever craftier direction at Fancy Hank's in recent months.
As if to prove the point, they're now launching what they hope will be the first of many collaborations with friends in the local beer world.
Staff from the BBQ joint off the Queen Vic Market headed to Two Birds Brewing in Spotswood, where they joined forces to create a beer that's simply begging to be paired with their 16-hour smoked goodies.
It's a Smoked Chipotle Brown Ale that uses both Cherrywood and Mesquite smoked malts for, you've guessed it, smokiness (and, chances are, some meaty character too). Chipotles were added twice during the brew too to add a touch of heat.
Apparently, Hank "hasn't been this excited since he tasted his first beef brisket at age six".
You can join them the launch at Fancy Hank's, at which there will be merch, giveaways, food specials and door prizes too.
It kicks off at 6pm.
