Craft Beer Fight Club at Dove & Olive: Broads Who Brew

The November edition of the Dove & Olive's Craft Beer Fight Club is an all-girl affair (at least in regards the brewers – men are still welcome) with Melbourne's Two Birds taking on local faves Young Henrys.

How the evening works is that each brewer selects two of their best beers then - along with guests - debate, de-construct, digest and vote until an ultimate winner has been found. The winning beer gets the prize of a month-long stint on one of the venue's 20+ craft beer taps while the winning brewery gets the coveted Golden Growler.

This female-focused round of CBFC is associated with the Pinks Boots Society, an organisation that seeks to help inspire and empower women in the brewing industry (related: the Neneh Cherry Saison brewed by the Pink Boots collective at Two Birds very recently won the Champion French / Belgian ale at the CBIA awards).

Aside from getting to try some great beers, you'll get to learn stuff from the people that make the beer, meet some good folk, have some laughs and a great afternoon out where the focus is firmly on fun.

There are two ticket types available, depending on your level of thirst:

  • A Heavyweight Beer Nerd ticket gets you four schooners - one of each beer - and will cost $30
  • A Featherweight Beer Nerd ticket is for those who are newer to beer and just want to try a bit of everything (four middies) and it costs $20

To book either form of ticket, just head here.
