Think you've got a killer home brew recipe that deserves to be shared with the masses? Beer DeLuxe is giving you that exact opportunity when they launch their Home Brew Heroes competition.
Throughout April across four Beer DeLuxe venues – Hawthorn, Wagga Wagga and Darling Harbour – you'll be able to drop a beer you've brewed in to them and, if it's deemed to be the best, you'll be up for a heap of prizes, including brewing your beer commercially and having it served on tap at Beer DeLuxe.
The way it works is thus:
Each entrant will need to submit a beer in one or more categories – pale ale, IPA or specialty – for the initial qualifying round (see dates below). 10 finalists will be decided in each category to go through to the Grand Final, which will take place at Beer DeLuxe Fed Square in Melbourne in May during Good Beer Week. That will see a winner announced in each category, as well as awards for Best Beer and People's Choice.
The prizes on offer are certainly enough to get you busy thinking about recipes, as they include:
Category winners (outside of Melbourne)
- An all expenses paid trip to Melbourne for two to the Good Beer Week Grand Final event.
Judges Award winner
- A behind the scenes brewery tour and master class
- Invitation to the AIBA awards as a guest of Beer DeLuxe for you and a friend
- VIP Invitation to the exclusive AIBA after party for you and a friend
Overall Best Beer winner
- An all expenses paid trip to collaboratively brew your recipe, which will be tapped at all Beer DeLuxes in VIC & NSW
- Invitation to the AIBA awards as a guest of Beer DeLuxe for you and a friend
- VIP Invitation to the exclusive AIBA after party for you and a friend
