For those who make it through the first 16 hours of Dry July, well done. Mane Liquor has a reward for you.
From 4pm on July 1, they'll be dipping into the cellar and tapping two of their favourite barrel aged beers: Boatrocker's Starward whisky barrel aged imperial stout and Harviestoun's Highland Park whisky barrel-aged Ola Dubh (which, in case you were wondering, apparently translates as 'black oil').
Alongside growler pours of these, they'll have an open tasting of more from the Boatrocker range, as well as that of Highland Park whisky. They'll also be offering specials on both Starward and Highland Park whiskies so you can try the beer that was aged in the whisky barrels alongside the whisky itself.
And, for good measure, if you buy some beer you'll go in the draw to win a bottle of either of the whiskies. It means that even if you are aiming fro Dry July, there's still plenty of reason to get along and grab a few treats for August.
