A Wayward Degustation

The cellar door in the Wayward brewery in Camperdown is a pretty awesome space, the little rooms inside old concrete wine vats creating as unique a brewery space as you'll find in this country. Wouldn't it be nice to sit in there and enjoy a fancy dinner? Yes, it would. And, yes, you can.

On July 14 the brewer is teaming up with InBocca, purveyors of gourmet Italian food who have shown a particular fondness for beer, on a four course brewery degustation. And for each of the beers selected for a course the chefs will also have used it within the meal, meaning you're getting a double dose of beer deliciousness.

The evening will be led by head chef Luca Cato and Wayward's head brewer Shaun Blissett, so you'll have two fine fonts of knowledge when it comes to dissecting all the flavour nuances. If you're not sold by now, here's the menu:

  • Broccoli Fried Lasagna with Keller Instinct Bavarian Lager
  • Grilled chicken marinated in India red ale and ginger, a side of quinoa, snow peas and the Charmer IRA
  • Pork belly slow braised in pineapple IPA, with roasted roots, pumpkin seeds, garlic and a glass of the Funky Pineapple Hand Grenade Brett IPA
  • Smoked chocolate tart, caramel sauce and the Midnight Barley Cowboy hopped porter

Tickets are $65 - get 'em here.
