The monthly Ale Stars evening at The Local Taphouse is one of Australia's most beloved regular beer events. Attracting a mixture of beer lovers, both old and new, it's a fun and interesting way to learn about everyone's favourite beverage.
Based on a different theme every month - usually a brewery, country or beer style - the event takes you on a happy, sometimes hoppy jaunt around the beer world, complete with food, quizzes and plenty of good banter.
Leading the way, you'll have a brewer on hand to entertain with stories, expertise, insight and - most importantly - to tell you about the beer you're drinking.
For the October edition they're following the obvious trend and going for an Oktoberfest theme, though they're doing it by way of some German classics.
The four beers you'll try are from four Munich brewers so you'll get an authentic taste of Bavaria:
- Spaten Oktoberfestbier Märzen
- Hacker-Pschorr Munich Dunkel Dark Lager
- Schneider Weisse Tap 7 Unser Original Weissbier
- Paulaner Salvator Doppelbock
