Fancy having one on the Oven? Then you'd best make plans to be in Wangaratta on Saturday February 4.
That's when the north eastern Victorian town will be playing host to Ales On The Ovens, a festival dedicated to the best of local produce and entertainment, and taking place in Apex Park on the banks of the Ovens River.
A dozen local brewers will feature alongside winemakers, cider makers, a distiller, chefs and musicians, with the lineup as follows:

Despite the availability of delicious alcoholic things, it's very much been designed as a family day out so there'll be a heap of things for kids to do including egg and spoon races, finger knitting, apple bobbing, tunnel ball, art and craft activities, face painting and sprinklers (bring your bathers). Kids get in free, too.
in keeping with the relaxed vibe, it'd be a good idea to bring a chair and/or picnic rug, plus sunscreen and – if you're attractive to biting insects – some bug spray. Things not to bring are your own food or drink – there'll be plenty of good stuff there.
Tickets are available now online or at the gate for $40 each ($35 concession). Advanced group discounts may still be available too. Gates open at 11am and close at 8pm.
