Easter Blues & Brews 2017 at Murray’s (NSW)

Easter weekend has become something of an institution at Murray's Brewery in Port Stephens. For several years they've made a big event of the April long weekend, opening up the restaurant, brewery and surrounding grounds to all manner of activities like a blues concert, Easter egg hunts and the launch of special Easter beers. And 2017 will be no different.

This year will see the release of two new brews; a Hot Cross Bun beer and a Chocolate Easter Egg beer, alongside the plethora of other beers normally on offer at the tap room. You'll be able to take a free brewery tour over the weekend too, at 2:15pm each day. The woodfired oven will be serving up pizzas and smokey barbecue food, while there'll be a special kids menu.

As usual kids will be well catered for with a giant Easter egg hunt, an interactive Easter game (BYO mobile device for that one), Easter-themed arts and crafts, face painting and a visit from the Easter Bunny. If you'd like to be involved in the kids activities, you're asked to please donate $5, all of which will go to the Rural Fire Service which came to the rescue when Murray's experienced a fire last year.

While the kids are otherwise occupied you can enjoy free blues concerts on the Saturday and Sunday, with Tom Blake performing on the former and The Lamplighters on the latter.

If you'd prefer not to drive (which is probably fair enough) there's a shuttle bus operating to and from Nelson Bay – it costs $5 and you'll need to make a booking by calling 4982 6411 or visiting the brewery's website

Entry is otherwise free and activities kick off at 11am on each day.
