Feb-'Brew'-ary Beer Dinner at Club Kilsyth

Wed 22-02-12, 6:30pm

Portland-hotel-17

Having tested the craft beer waters with its first ever beer tasting late in 2011, Club Kilsyth in Melbourne’s outer east is back with a beer dinner.

The team there has hooked up with James Squire for a six course dinner matched with the six beers in the James Squire range.

Among the treats on the menu are the likes of Namh Jihm scented Florida lobster with rice crisp noodles, peanuts and mango salsa, and venison carpaccio with Roaring Forties blue cheese and macerated pear en croute.

The evening will be hosted by the brewery’s ambassador Lewis Byrne, who will be on hand to tell all about the beers.

Having kicked off with a Beer Blokes hosted tasting last year, it’s great to see Club Kilsyth getting behind better beer as it’s easy to forget, given the rapid growth of craft beer in inner Melbourne, that much of Australia remains a craft beer desert. We believe they’ve turned over one or two taps to craft beer since that first event too, which is fantastic. So, if you live nearby, head along and give them your support; heck, take some friends too and start them on the road to a lifetime of better beer drinking!

Tickets cost $60 for non-members / $55 for members and can be booked via enquiries@clubkilsyth.com.au or by calling (03) 9761 4233. The venue is at the corner of Colchester and Canterbury Roads, Bayswater North.
