Illawarra Brewing Tap Takeover at The Pumphouse Bar

The Illawarra Brewing Company is heading north to take over the taps at The Pumphouse in Sydney’s Darling Harbour.

The crew from the Wollongong brewery will be loading a truck full of their liquid friends and putting as many of them through the taps as possible, for as long they’re allowed. Both brewers will be there, so it’ll probably be a while…

Along for the ride will be their recent seasonal (the Saison du Soleil), plus the new Belgian Pale Ale.

Those will feature alongside their multi award-winning Illawarra Brewing Company Koelsch, Pale Ale and the rest of the beloved family.

The agenda also leaves a bit of room for the brewers to display their penchant for beer and food matching – something The Pumphouse Bar is known to encourage. We’ve been privy to the proposed menu, which goes a little something like this…

Draught Ale – Fruit Platter
Koelsch – Salmon/Cheese platter
Witbier – Flathead Fillets/Salmon
Pale Ale – Duck Breast/Lamb Backstrap
Saison du Soleil – BBQ Pork Japanese pancake
Belgian Pale – Duck Breast/Pasta Orecchiette
Abbey Brune – Slow Cooked Pork Ribs
‘Rust’ Amber Ale – Rump/Sirloin
Porter – Chocolate Pizza/Cheese Platter
