Newcastle Craft Beer Week

Newcastle Craft Beer Week

Thanks to the passion and hard work of two beer lovers, Newcastle is to host its first Craft Beer Week in November. Corey Crooks, from the Albion Hotel, and Mark Mead, manager of the Warners at the Bay Bottleshop have pulled together a great-looking lineup of varied beers events featuring breweries and beer industry people from across Australia. There are dinners, masterclasses, tastings, film screenings and much more.

According to Corey: “We have brought Australia’s best craft breweries together here in Newcastle to celebrate, educate and enjoy everything good about good beer.

“2011 is the inaugural year for Newcastle Craft Beer Week… The first year is jam packed with activity across Newcastle’s best beer venues and the vision is to grow the event each year to be bigger and better with the possibility of creating ‘The Newcastle Beer Awards’ with an awards presentation dinner in future years, plus bringing in guest speakers from overseas.”
