Rogue Wave is the brewery based at the Aireys Pub on the Great Ocean Road. It has a range of core and seasonal beers and also brews for the Sea Shepherd crew.
And now they're looking for a new head brewer to join the team.
JOB DESCRIPTION: HEAD BREWER
Rogue Wave Brewing Co is a new Australian owned and operated brewery attached to the iconic Aireys Pub in Aireys Inlet on the spectacular Great Ocean Road. The pub has been around since 1904 with Rogue Wave Brewing Co a more recent addition. Our current brewer has got us off to a flying start but is now moving onward and upward. So we are now in the market for a head brewer to take us into our next exciting chapter.
We are after an experienced, qualified, creative, passionate brewer who is wanting to become part of our business and our community. The right candidate will have a strong technical brewing knowledge and a thorough understanding of the practical aspects of the brewing process. We are experiencing considerable growth and need a brewer who can grow with us who understands all aspects of brewing from running our brewery to working with contract brewers to increasing the brewery's capacity.
At this stage of our journey we are a largely a one man brewery. Day to day duties will include all things brewing: recipe development, wort production, cellar operations, packaging (keg and bottle), ordering and shipping, basic lab work, cleaning (and more cleaning). You will also be heavily involved in completing and maintaining brewing logs and have an understanding of excise and reporting requirements.
From time to time you maybe required to assist with local deliveries festivals and other on sight and off sight promotions.
A love of the ocean and a surf board may also be handy!
A competitive remuneration package will be offered to the right candidate, commensurate with their level of knowledge and experience.
