The Public Brewery has enjoyed impressive growth since opening its first venue in Croydon. It now operates two breweries and three venues and is looking to hire an additional production brewer.

JOB DESCRIPTION: PRODUCTION BREWER

The Public Brewery, located in Melbourne’s eastern suburbs, is looking for an experienced Production Brewer to join our team. After two years of brewing and significant growth, The Public Brewery needs to expand the team to keep up with growing demand across our wholesale beer production.

The Public Brewery is looking for an experienced production brewer with at least two years of experience in a commercial brewery. The role will be integral to maintaining our current core range of beers, as well as working on new wholesale products. You will be involved in all facets for production from wort production, cellar management, filtration, quality assurance and packaging activities.

We will be looking to leverage your past experience to assist the Head Brewer in improving production efficiencies, be part of a continual review of standard operating procedures, expansion of our quality programs and ensure that we are turning out consistently high quality beer.

While this role is primarily focussed on production related activities, there will also be the opportunity to work within the brewpub environment brewing seasonal/small batch releases and collaboration opportunities.

Skills and key qualifications required by the role:

  • Must have minimum two years production/commercial brewery experience with relevant references – this is not an entry level role
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to work across multiple tasks
  • A keen attention to detail in all areas, with the ability to problem solve and work creatively
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Able to work both independently without supervision as well as part of a fast moving team
  • Be physically fit, willing and able to perform labour intensive work
  • Responsible Service of Alcohol certificate
  • Current forklift licence
  • Brewing related education would be a distinct advantage.

This is a permanent, full-time role, typically Monday to Friday with occasional requirements for weekend work. Your application should include a cover letter detailing how your prior experience will be relevant at The Public Brewery, as well as an up to date CV.

A salary package will be negotiated with the successful applicant, based on experience, qualification and skill. This role is available as an immediate start for the right candidate.

Please send your application to Brendan@thepublicbrewery.com.au

Deadline for applications is June 7, 2017.
