The Spirit of Sydney Distillery was launched in 2013 as part of the same group of producers that includes the multiple award winning Sydney and Lovedale Breweries. They're looking to hire an assistant distiller to join the team in Lovedale.
JOB DESCRIPTION: ASSISTANT DISTILLER (NSW)
Lovedale Brewery & Spirit of Sydney Distillery are privately owned craft beer, cider and spirit producers based in the Hunter Valley. Along with our sister Sydney Brewery, we are responsible for brewing trophy winning beers and ciders, and are looking for a motivated brewer or distiller to join our distillery established in 2013 in Lovedale.
The successful applicant will perform the following tasks:
- Brew wash (whisky beer)
- Transfer wash and distillate
- Weekly CIP of stills and FVs
- Stocktake and quality checking barrels
- Organise and care take of barrel warehouse
- Operate and monitor stills
- Minor coopering
- Blending
- Documentation
- Willingness to work weekends/afterhours
- Clean, clean, clean, clean…. Then clean some more…
The following skills will help put you in a great position for this role:
- Previous distilling experience
- Experience operating a commercial brewhouse
- Any type of distilling/brewing/winemaking/food sciences education
- Current RSA
- Forklift licence
