Since opening in Port Douglas, Hemingway’s Brewery has been helping local beer make inroads into Far North Queensland. Its owners are also set to open a second, larger operation on the waterfront in Cairns this year. Right now, however, the brewery is after an assistant venue manager for its original home.
JOB DESCRIPTION: ASSISTANT VENUE MANAGER
Hemingway's Brewery is a Gastro Brewpub situated on the beautiful Crystalbrook Superyacht Marina in Port Douglas. Hemingway's is the first of its kind in Far North Queensland and offers a relaxed vibe where you can enjoy handcrafted beers suited to the tropical climate and fresh local produce. A second and much larger venue is soon to opened on the Cairns waterfront meaning we need more experienced and qualified staff.
The Opportunity
We require an inspirational Assistant Venue Manager to join our up-beat and approachable team in Port Douglas.
The primary purpose is to be involved in all aspects of venue operations including Food and Beverage service, stock management and budgeting, assisting the securing and facilitation of corporate and private events, staff management, rostering and training, and above all customer service. Although you will be based in Port Douglas you may be required to assist in our Cairns venue as well.
About You
To be successful in this role you will ideally have 3 years' experience in a similar position. Additionally, a current RMLV and POS experience would be beneficial for this position. You will have a service oriented disposition with attention to detail being critical. Ultimately you enjoy the challenges of getting the best out of your team in a fun and inspirational way as well as the challenges of making our customer experiences the best they’ve ever had.
You must have experience with:
- Coordinating and execution of functions
- Cash handling, reconciliation, stock control and management
- Excellent communication and organisational skills with the ability to work autonomously
- Providing high-level customer service skills in a variety of hospitality offerings
- Giving and receiving feedback for the benefit of staff and the management team.
