Located just ten minutes south of Perth in the multicultural suburb of Victoria Park, The Dutch Trading Co is one of WA's standout beer venues, one with connections to some of the key venues and retailers that have helped build the city's craft beer community.

This high calibre team behind it has assembled one of Perth’s finest and most expansive beer venues. It offers a rotating range of beers from lagers to double IPAs, stouts and sours that flow through the venue’s 24 taps, which include a dedicated nitro tap. More than 500 beers are available for sale and takeaway purchase (at times closer to 1,000...), including very rare selections from the USA and Europe.

And that's before you get to the incredible cellar, hosting more than 300 beers you'll find in few other places on the planet. Or, indeed, the takeaway wines numbering more than 100, or the spirits number more than 50...

With only a handful of serious beer focused venues in Perth when it launched (and not too many more in existence years later), The Dutch Trading Co quickly became a haven for a mix of beer nerds and curious locals. Their unique Double Dutch Rudder tasting paddle, weekly quizzes, Sunday sesh mini tap takeovers, brewery showcases, tasting events, educational events, plus annual happenings such as Crispifest, Wild & Sour, Sludgefest, Dankfest and DTCfest ensure there's plenty of reason to keep coming back too.

The cavernous front room is decorated with up-cycled "keg lights" and handmade benches conjured from old railway sleepers, while out back is an equally welcoming function space with rough hewn benches, more of those keg lights and, beyond that, a large sandpit for kids with discerning parents.

Between the two rooms is a kitchen focused on a produce-driven menu – dishes created over a charcoal grill with a big feature on flavour driven skewers, rotisserie and modern takes on old pub classics.

It's as fine an establishment for the discerning drinker as you'll find anywhere in Australia – one reason why The Crafty Pint hosts so many of its WA events there – and one where you'll always find something new served by someone as – or maybe even more – passionate and knowledgable about great beer as you.
