Mornington Peninsula IPA

Mornington Peninsula Brewery (Tribe)

Released December 9, 2010

Back in the day, Mornington's IPA was their third limited release from the then fledgling brewery and was their biggest yet. It's since become a popular member of the year round range (and also superseded in the "biggest" sense by several imperial releases. It's an IPA that, like their Pale Ale, takes its lead from those coming out of the US, a "light orange-tinted amber in colour" beer that packs the stone fruit aromas - peach and apricots - plus plenty of passionfruit that you'd expect from a beer given generous late kettle additions of Simcoe, Centennial, and Amarillo hops. In the early days, there was a tendency for the bitterness to run away with itself; these days, without losing any character or punch, those runaway acids are kept in check in what's one of the finest IPAs in the land
