A beer that is close to brewer Ben Waymouth's heart, what with his love of all things traditional. This beer eschews the New World hop twist favoured by many local brewers when recreating beers from the UK and instead sticks to the old favourite East Kent Goldings. The result is a beer with subtle floral, woody, twiggy hop aromas, a touch of tobacco and bready, toasted malt flavours keeping them company.
Ben also brewed a bigger version for an event at Good Beer Week 2015. the Fighting Jack tipped the scales at 7.1 percent ABV and packed heaps of the malt flavours you look for in English style ales, as well as a touch of marmalade too. If he brings it back, it's well worth a shot.
