Nowhereman On The DL Schwarzbier – RETIRED

Sometimes known as “Black Pils”, Schwarzbier leads a humble life in the beer world. Perhaps misunderstood due to its appearance, it's a style that is deceptively lighter than its dark hue might lead drinkers to expect. It can also be complex yet refreshing, which you could argue makes it a bold choice for the dark beer in a brewery's core range.

As with all of head brewer Paul Wyman’s beers, On The DL is an articulation of balance, drinkability and respect for style. In this Schwarzbier, that combination leads to sweet malt aromas followed by toasted malts and an almost creamy mouthfeel thanks to a dark wheat addition. A trio of German hops, noble in origin, contribute spicy and grassy notes before it finishes dry and toasty and with little in the way of bitterness.
