The Otherside brewing team continue to take the road less travelled. Here, the use of amchoor, an Indian dried green mango spice, and Japanese sencha green tea shows not only how diverse and creative beer can be, but does so while serving up an intriguing refreshment.
Leading with an earthy, green tea aroma, the palate soon shifts towards the fruity yet with a slight sweetness. Rather than plump mango, amchoor imparts something of an exotic tropical, citrusy element; it's one that's somehow rooted in mango, if that’s a thing, with an acidity that works in harmony with the lacto-sour. When joined by subtle tannins from the tea, the duo provides a very curious depth of flavour that benefits from repeat sipping.
While not recommended for trying at home, an insider happily vouched for a partially-frozen version if you're after an even more unique twist...
