Tiny Mountain’s Quencher series is a simple concept with an abundance of possibility. Take a Berliner Weisse soured with lactobacillus for a pleasantly tart base and balance the flavour by adding seasonally available fruit from local suppliers.
Or if that’s too fancy for ya - make a sour beer and chuck in some fruit from down the road.
The first cab off the rank in the series is the Mango Passionfruit Quencher, which takes advantage of the copious amount of mango in NQ. A big mango nose (which, incidentally, can also be used as a great insult in Townsville) leads to more mango on the palate, but passionfruit quickly creeps up to join in the fun. The fruits are ably supported by the use of Citra hops, and by the light yeastiness you might expect from a Berliner Weisse.
Whether you’re new to sour beers or a seasoned veteran, the harmony between the different elements in this Quencher make it well suited to the tropical heat of Townsville.
