Burnley Brewing & Miss Moses & Brunswick Beer Collective Hazelnut Roll-Inspired Double Oat Cream Ale

Burnley Brewing and the podcasting Beerstagramers at Brunswick Beer Collective have been teaming up to turn cakes and other sweets into beer since 2019 and in April 2021, they’ve released what may be their sweetest collab yet. This time, they've also aligned with the crew at Brunswick’s excellent Miss Moses to create a Hazelnut Roll-Inspired Double Oat Cream Ale.

If reading the beer’s name puts you out of breath, wait until you crack into a can of the quite sweet, very nutty and very far-from-beer, beer. Opening a can of the orange and hazy ale and the first thought that comes to mind is the classic Italian liqueur Frangelico, while the inclusion of oat, wheat and lactose all combine for a sweet but biscuity base that’s a little closer to tucking into a waffle cone filled with Nutella over biting into a piece of cake. Top that with the inclusion of vanilla and its incredibly fluffy mouthfeel and you’ve got a 440ml can that’s best shared and served with dessert.

NB: If you're reading this in time, the beer is launching at Miss Moses at 5pm on April 23.
