Well, they tried their damnedest to make Darker Days happen in 2021, but Bright's winter – and then spring – festival was destined to fall foul of too much damn COVID. Had it taken place, they would have been joined by mates from Molly Rose and Mr Banks for the High Country weekender; as it is, they still got the band together to create a beer.
Called Jam Band, it's a hazy IPA in which the brewers' sights were very firmly trained on tropical fruity fun thanks to the very du jour choice of Strata, Mosaic and Idaho 7 hops. Also joining the party is bergamot (an addition we reckon would have been put forward by the fruit, spice 'n' tea-lovin' Molly Rose).
Imagine a summer berry sponge with a twist of cream made into beer, but more refreshing than that probably sounds, and you'll be prepared when you tuck into Jam Band's orange haze. Indeed, arriving on the cusp of summer as it does makes it rather more appropriate than had it taken to the stage as planned in the depths of winter.

Thanks to the current issues around postage into Melbourne, a few other beers from Bright made it to Crafty Towers a little late and have mostly been snapped up. Those were Pumpkin Pie Ale, Imperial Double Shout Affogato Stout and Lockdown Haze, with only the last of those still available from the brewery's online store.
