Hepburn Springs Brown Ale

Hepburn Springs Brewing Co might specialise in traditional, Old World beer styles, but that doesn't mean they always take a traditional approach. Case in point: this Brown Ale.

The twist here is the inclusion of beech-smoked malts, which add a smoky / peaty edge to the amber-hued drop. There's a dryness that cuts through the initial sweetness for a quick finish, albeit with a little chocolate / cola sticking around.
