TWØBAYS might stand apart from Australia’s craft beer industry thanks to their focus on purely gluten-free beer but one slight issue it shares with many is its location. OK, we probably shouldn’t say that about the Mornington Peninsula, given it's filled with glorious beaches and is one of the most popular tourist destinations in close proximity to Melbourne. But one issue it does face is the relative lack of public transport, which means the Dromana taproom needs a good option for anyone driving who still wants to experience a full-favoured beer.
To solve that problem, the brewery added the mid-strength Session Ale to their core range late in 2021. The 3.5 percent ABV beer has been hopped with New Zealand’s Nelson Sauvin and America’s Mosaic hops which lend the beer stone fruit, citrus and a little bit of white grape. The inclusion of Goldfinch Millet Malt has helped keep the body closer to full-strength for a gluten-free middy you don’t need to drive to Peninsula for. Having said that, there are far worse ways to spend your time.
