Two Birds Brewing Warrior Woman 2022

Two Birds Brewing (Lion/Kirin)

Published March 4, 2022

Two Birds have long been leading the way for women in the Australian beer industry, and since 2019 have released a Warrior Woman beer in conjunction with International Women's Day. Past releases have included an XPA with the P representing peaches from co-founder Jayne Lewis' garden, and a juicy pale in 2021; now for 2022 they're sticking in that sort of ballpark with a hazy pale brewed with mango and pineapple.

That said, while it's released under the "hazy pale" banner, clearly there was a reason they included “super juicy” as a prefix in the label notes. Fruited to the eyeballs and thick with purée, you'll find mango doing its fleshy thing on the nose and pineapple getting all pithy and tangy on the palate. The finish is less bitter than grippy – think of a tart, freshly squeezed brekkie juice (which is pretty much how it looks in the glass too).

tl;dr: a fruity explosion as bold as the labels – and the fists-in-the-air messages adorning them.
