Your Mates Lemon Myrtle Sour & Red IPA

Your Mates might be best known for the mates that make up their core range but tins without names are an increasingly common sight from the Sunshine Coast brewery. Lemon Myrtle Sour is such a beer and it’s certainly one that feels like it was brewed for the Queensland coast. From the first crack of the can, lemonade leaps out and it’s that flavour that coats the palate. But as a refreshing zest and tartness soon following through, think if it as the beer equivalent of a sour lolly.

Red IPA meanwhile, is the beer equivalent of a warm hug. The chewy release is filled with toffee and caramel but despite it being quite a full-bodied and rich beer, those malt-driven flavours share the stage with plenty of pine and a dank, resinous finish.
