If it’s a sour taste with a side of fruit you're seeking, Your Mates Brewing might well have you covered. OK, so we can’t really say Kiwi, Pine & Lime Sour has a side of fruit, however, with the beer instead bringing quite a hefty mix of tropical flavours. Unsurprisingly given the pine and lime, the mind at first turns to one of Australia’s greatest inventions, the Splice ice cream with its wonderful blend of flavours being captured in this sour. The kiwifruit meanwhile comes across more like biting into a particularly fresh and sweet bit of the fruit, while the beer’s tart finish ensures it's as refreshing as Australia's greatest invention (again, we're talking ice-cream here - not the hills hoist).
Karen’s Shandy meanwhile, seems to be the first character created by Your Mates might be someone they aren't actually that keen to share a beer with. That’s quite fitting really since we’re quite a way from beer here, with the GABS release instead resembling a homemade lemonade with its immediate and griping tartness, sour citrus flavour and sweet finish.
