Where would the beer world be without breweries? Non-existent, of course, due to the lack of beer. But breweries are responsible for much more than merely brewing beer: they're often found at the centre of their community, supporting local groups and causes, and providing a place for people from all walks of life to meet and socialise.
These days, they're even responsible for breathing new life into areas, whether that's the brewery that's opened a taproom in an industrial part of town where previously there was nowhere to hang out, or the owners who took over a rundown old pub that had once been the heartbeat of a regional town and got the lifeblood pumping again.
And that's without going into the innovation, the experimentation, the delicious flavours, the spark for other small producers to start up to produce hops, malt, yeast, sustainable packaging, and so on.
In short, there's plenty to celebrate when it comes to the country's hundreds of brewers and, in partnership with the crew at Bluestone Yeast, that's what we're going to do – with your help.
We're inviting people to nominate their Brewery of the Month, with the best nominations getting a shout out on The Crafty Pint Podcast and via our socials and newsletters. You can nominate for any reason too: the brewery that goes above and beyond to support the local community, whose staff are bona fide legends, whose IPAs are simply out of this world, or who might be flying under the radar and deserves a wider audience.
