One of a growing number of good beer bottleshops in Brisbane, Greenslopes Cellars is a humble bottle-o that’s been a reliable source of the good stuff for a few years now and is home to one of the largest ranges of craft beer in the city.
After Glenn Vos and his team took over the shop, they quickly began to up the beer ante. What at first must have felt like a gamble paid off when the thirsty Brisbane beer community started spreading the word.
Today, Greenslopes Cellars has cemented itself as a go-to destination for top-notch local beers alongside much sought after domestic and imported classic and experimental releases. Their dedication to bringing you best craft beer from Australia and beyond is blatantly evident in the selection available: the likes of Mikkeller, Rogue, Boatrocker, Wild Beer, Buxton, Clown Shoes, Modus Operandi, Akasha, Nøgne Ø, Ballistic and, well, you get the idea, with many, many more world class breweries lining the shelves and filling the fridges.
Whether you fancy a classic Aussie pale ale, a German Doppelbock, a barrel aged beauty, a wild ale or something that mashes myriad styles together in a hot mess of experimentation and flavour explosion, chances are you’ll find it on the shelf at Greenslopes.
On the off chance you don’t, you’ve still got four more shots at finding what you need in the shape of the quartet of rotating taps on the ready to fill squealers and growlers with local and imported draught beer.
Like its Hawthorne Cellars sibling, Greenslopes adopted the Cellarbrations banner in 2017, the change of name driven by a desire to become a more familiar and inviting bottleshop for all booze drinkers. As such, those yet to dip their toes into craftier waters have plenty of commercial brands to choose from, although the employment of beer lovers only too happy to serve up a spot of beerducation to anyone who walks through the door should have them exploring more of what the store has to offer over time.
In the meantime, there’s already an army of good beer guzzlers at the ready to take on everything the team at Greenslopes can throw at them. And, if you like what they’ve got to offer, you can check out their other venues, Tapworks in Chermside and Crafty Fox Cellars in West End too.
