BBQ Food Fest at The Australian Brewery (NSW)

Fri 24 Nov 5:00pm to 26 Nov

BBQ Food Fest at The Australian Brewery (NSW)

Anyone can do barbecue and beer. But it's hard to recall a brewery doing barbecue and beer quite like this.

The Australian Brewery has pulled out all the stops to host the first of what will hopefully be an annual BBQ Food Fest at its Rouse Hill home.

Between November 24 and 26 they'll welcome in dozens of teams of professional barbecuers from across Australia and around the world. And forget your little backyard burner – this is serious barbecuing business with the teams competing regularly in officially sanctioned events, which probably goes some way to explaining why there's $40,000 worth of prize money on the line here, the richest prize of any similar event in the country.

As well as that, be held at a brewery there'll be a parallel competition being run to find the best dish incorporating the Aussie Brewery's beer in some way.

Then there's the food trucks. From braised beef to Bondi burgers, charcoaled Churrasco to bearded bakers, some of Sydney's favourite pop-up kitchens and all round excellent chefs will be setting up shop over the weekend:

  • Bovine and Swine
  • Blackbear
  • Smokin’ Grill
  • Milky Lane
  • Bella Shack
  • Happy as Larry
  • Tsuru
  • Australian Brewery Churrasco
  • Knafeh

And then there's the music that will run all weekend, headlined on Saturday evening by pop rockers Thirsty Merc. Add a few masterclasses, blind judging, foodie celebs and as much fresh beer as you could wish for and it seems set to be a delicious and waist expanding weekend.

Session times are as follows:

  • Friday November 24 – 5pm til late
  • Saturday November 25 – 12pm til late
  • Sunday November 26 – 12-9pm

Tickets are just $5 and can be picked up here, with $1 from every sale going to the Hills Charitable Trust.
