The more things change, the more they stay the same. At least, that's the case with The Catfish's annual birthday bash.
The celebratory beers and bands forming part of the extended weekend evolve, but at the heart of it all is the Poker Pub Crawl.
For number four, you can look out for birthday beers that include:
- Adrian Einstein Presents C=MD2 maple bacon bourbon cherry red ale, a collab with Moon Dog
- The Cavalier Catfish imperial pilsner from Cavalier
- Anyone For Tennis strawberries and cream wheat beer from Bridge Road Brewers
- Citracules, a blood orange DIPA with sorbot from Hop Nation
while there's DJs and a ten-piece Blues Brothers band among the entertainment lineup over the four days.
As for the Poker Pub Crawl, it goes a little something like this:
- Come down to The Catfish with your team (between three and six people from 2pm on November 25)
- Buy one pot of any of the birthday beers
- Take a photo with it and upload to social media with the tag #catfishturns4, show the bar staff and receive a playing card
- Then go to Foresters Pub & Dining, Beermash, Rainbow Fitzroy and The Rooks Return and do the same.
You have until 8pm to complete the crawl and get back to The Catfish with your 5 cards. Once there, the team with the best poker hand wins!
