Fermental Bros: La Matanza and Blizzard Brewing Degustation (VIC)

If you like slow food and good beer, journey to Rivendell in East Gippsland on December 9 as La Matanza and Blizzard Brewing host a degustation showcasing some of the best in local produce. 

It's centred around a beer that Blizzard brewer Chris Haren and La Mantanza's Josh Thomas collaborated on together, essentially resulting in the former using the latter's sourdough to create a saison. 

But that'll be just one of the six beers you'll get to try amidst six courses of food sourced from the orchards and gardens of Rivendell, with the full menu laid out as follows:

  • Corteza De Cerdo – Fluffy Pork Crackling with Citrus Salt and White Pepper paired with Summer Ale (new release collaboration with Feathertop Wines)
  • Saussison Sec with Crottin De Chevre and Genoa Fig paired with 1550 Lager
  • La Matanza Sobrassada with Honeycomb, Cumquat and Sourdough with Sourdough Saison
  • Crispy Pork Belly with Brussel Sprouts, Sautéed Leek and Nutmeg with Bladerunner Belgian Pale Ale
  • Porcini smoked Eye Fillet with Puy Lentils, Pancetta and Celeriac Rosti with Avalanche Amber Ale
  • Wattleseed Crème Caramel, Choc coated Arrandene Coffee beans & Cherries with Summit Stout
