Young Henrys' Tinnie Crack 2017 (NSW)

In another reminder of the remorseless march of time, it's been five years since Young Henrys first launched the beer that has almost come to define the brewery: Newtowner.

The beer was launched as a celebration of Newtown's sesquicentenary and its availability was restricted just to the 2042 postcode, but you can't keep a good thing down and it started to be found further afield, then further and further still. Nowadays it's the brewery's biggest seller and is available in tins across the country.

To celebrate the journey so far, they're inviting all and sundry to join them at legendary local pub The Courthouse – where the very first keg of Newtowner was tapped – to crack a tinnie with them. To be specific, they're inviting you to join them and crack a tinnie with them in unison, at 6pm on the dot, in an earsplitting can opening moment that will reverberate around the neighbourhood. Then they'll probably just hang around, sink some piss and have a good time, as is their style.

Join them from 5pm on Tuesday.
