Celebrate Easter Down The Rabbit Hole

For the most part, since filling their Geelong brewery home with barrels, White Rabbit has focused on creating a series of beers soured, blended or both in a variety of manners. But that's not all they've been using barrels for.

In time for Easter 2017, they released the first batch of their Chocolate Stout created in conjunction with Pana Chocolate. It was a luscious delight that took on character from brandy soaked staves inside the barrels.

Here's what we said about that beer, which now has a 2018 sibling, available in 330ml instead of 750ml bottles. The new version remains lush, rich and creamy with vanilla and dark, figgy fruits in the mix and the brandy making itself known on the nose and giving the back of the palate a brandy snap like tickle.

The bottles are available nationwide but, if you're around Geelong, you can enjoy it as part of the latest Down The Rabbit Hole dinner at the brewery.

For just $45pp, guests can look forward to the following:

  • Coffee-cured Atlantic salmon on pumpernickel bread with White Rabbit Fyans Street Lager
  • Organic local oyster mushrooms on an organic sourdough crouton, confit garlic and chives with White Rabbit White Ale paired with Pana Fig and Wild Orange Chocolate
  • Spanish jamon rolls, pickled fennel and fennel pollen with White Rabbit Pale Ale paired with Pana Coconut and Goji Chocolate
Sous vide duck breast on organic brioche toast, pickled organic heirloom beets and White Rabbit Red Ale paired with Pana Sour Cherry and Vanilla Chocolate
  • Panna Choc Orange tart, peanut brittle and White Rabbit Chocolate Stout paired with Pana 60% chocolate

The event runs from 6.30pm to 10pm at the White Rabbit Brewery and Barrel Hall in Geelong and you can grab tickets here.
