Last year, KAIJU! founders Callum and Nat Reeves travelled to Bamberg to explore the German city's unique beer culture.
They returned with a desire to replicate the rauchbier style made famous by Bamberg brewers like Shlenkerla.
And they ended up creating that beer in conjunction with Melbourne's Kirk's Pub.
If you'd like to be among the first to taste the fruits of their labours, head to the venue at 382 Bourke Street from 5pm on September 12 as the first keg is tapped.
