A couple of years ago, in the wee small hours, at a Newtown bar, the mysterious intersecting circles of the universe brought the Crafty Pint team into the orbit of Riaz Shalla.
At that point we didn’t know he was an aspiring brewer, but a few months later we were reporting on the launch of Little Alchemist, the beer company launched by he and a couple of friends.
Since then, they’ve been quietly plugging away at breweries around the city and beyond: making beer, selling beer and moving closer to their dream of, one day, doing something grander with the brand. Until then, they’re just carrying on: making beer, selling beer.
And this weekend they're celebrating their second birthday.
They’re hosting it upstairs at one of their most supportive venues, Harts Pub, where they'll be pouring versions of the five beers they’ve released commercially to date, and this will be the first time they'll be pouring together side by side.

Given the time of year, when many are still recovering from the intensity of festive indulgence, it’s being held between the very leisurely hours of 11am and 2pm. So why not come share a beer with some thoroughly lovely people?
