Pint of Origin has been The Crafty Pint’s corner of Good Beer Week since 2012.
It’s there to showcase the best beers from Australia and the rest of the world, with bars and pubs across Melbourne welcoming scores of brewers through their doors too.
As well as weeklong tap takeovers, venues are celebrating with a bunch of pop-up events and here's what's on the agenda for Thursday, May 16:
- Mr West. Bellwoods Brewery - Worldwide to Westside Aviation Project. Hailing from Ossington Ave in downtown Toronto, Bellwoods are highly regarded for not only their immense barrel program, playful kettle sours and stouts but also their IPAs. Head to Mr West to try a whole bunch of them that have been flown into the country cold.
- The Park. Head into the Abbotsford pub from 6pm for a free tasting with Hemingway's Brewery.
- Carwyn Cellars. Colorado Mega Regional Showcase. Colorado has been literally exploding with next level new breweries and Carwyn has brought a bunch of them over for a tap takeover.
- Miss Moses. Capital Brewing Rarities Showcase & Meet the Brewers. From 7pm, the Capital brewers will be propping up the bar, ready for a chat, and Miss Moses will be pouring a showcase of their beers including some that have never been in Melbourne before.
Don't forget to grab a PoO Passport and start collecting stamps at each venue. Once you've bought beers at six venues, there's a free pot as a reward!
