Only a handful of microbreweries in existence today have been around for two decades. October 2019 saw Holgate Brewhouse reach that remarkable milestone as they celebrated 20 years since their first beer.
They also completed a successful crowdfunding campaign and, having recently commissioned a high-end German brewhouse at their home in Woodend, have just opened a schmick new Taproom & Visitor Centre.
Throughout it all, they've continued to explore new beer styles and amass trophies, both here and overseas, and they remain independently-owned – still run by Paul and Tash Holgate (these days with a growing team and a little help from their kids).
If you'd like to hear more about their unique story and taste a range of their beers, they're the guest brewery at November's Aussie Beer Club at The Australian Hotel in The Rocks.
Attendees will get to sample a range of Holgate beers during the session, accompanied by nibbles.
