We don't know why it's a bad thing to be "in a bit of a pickle", because pickles are nothing but amazing. And finally there's the opportunity to celebrate these salty little mouth treasures.
On Saturday November 16, The Oxford Tavern in Sydney's inner West is hosting Rise 'N' Brine, a one-day festival dedicated to all things pickle.
- Specially brewed Pickle beers from Batch Brewing and Yulli's
- Full pickle-inspired BBQ menu including pickle brine wings, fried pickle dawgs and pickle pops
- Pickleback menu curated by Jameson
- Pickleback slushies
- Photo ops with pickle mascots
...and because the good folk at The Tav are such helpful people: free antacids will be available over the bar.
There's also a pickle eating competition hosted by McClures Pickles, where the first person to finish the jar wins pickle prizes & bar vouchers.
To enter, email email@example.com with the subject “PICKLE MY PIE HOLE” - just because The Tav likes to preserve cucumbers doesn't mean you get to preserve your dignity.
The event runs from 11am to 5pm, and entry is free.
