If you have to do Christmas shopping, at least do it with a beer in your hand.
On Sunday December 8 from midday to 4pm, The Oxford Tavern is hosting the Petersham Christmas Markets. Grab a beer and check out the stalls of second hand goods, trinkets, succulents, crochet, knitwear, macramé and comics.
There's free face painting all afternoon for the kids, and there'll also be photos with Santa, with all donations going to the Koala Hospital in Port Macquarie and the NSW Rural Fire Service Association.
Then when you're done, sit in the Tav's beer garden with a beer or Christmas themed cocktail/mocktail (Mistletoe Margarita, anyone?) and listen to live tunes by local artists.
